ABOUT JUDGE WALSH |

Judge Walsh was born in St. Louis, Missouri and has lived in El Paso, Miami, Detroit, and Puerto Rico, before her family settled in Nevada over 40 years ago. She was graduated from Bishop Gorman High School in 1976. She is a graduate of the University of San Diego where she studied English Literature and Philosophy. Judge Walsh received her J.D. from the University of Arizona College of Law.
In 2002, Judge Walsh was elected to the Eighth Judicial District Court, where she currently serves, hearing an all civil calendar. She previously served in Municipal Court after having been appointed to the bench in 1999 by Mayor Oscar Goodman and the Las Vegas City Council.
In her legal career, Judge Walsh has worked as a prosecutor, public defender and private solo practitioner.
Prior to attending law school, Jessie Walsh served for nearly a decade as a congressional staffer for Senator Paul Laxalt and Congresswoman Barbara Vucanovich. She also worked as a development officer for the City of Las Vegas, Department of Economic and Urban Development. |
